Richard is an international development and governance expert with three decades of multi-sectoral experience across Sub-Saharan Africa, Europe, and the United States, leading large bilateral and regional programs funded by the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Canada, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Germany. A former team leader with the International Finance Corporation, Richard brings experience from Save the Children U.S., the World Bank Group, the United States Agency for International Development, and KPMG, spanning both the public and private sectors, regional economic blocs, and multi-lateral organisations. Richard is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya and holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, where he was also an Edward S. Mason Fellow in Public Policy and Management. An alumnus of Strathmore College, he enjoys spending time with his family, reading, staying fit, and listening to an eclectic collection of music. Richard has a passion for building resilient communities, mentoring, designing transformational programs, and supporting missions to remote and underserved communities.
