Africa’s Voices presented the first in a series of workshops about the ethics of big data at the Centre of Social Sciences and the Humanities (CRASSH) in Cambridge. We discussed data protection principles and how these apply to the development sector, as well as our own data protection procedures. At the heart of our data ethics is respect for participants and sensitivity to their personal information.
