Assessing impact, minority inclusion, and evaluating service delivery on SDC projects in Somalia

AFRICA’S VOICES ACCESSED AN ADDITIONAL DATABASE THROUGH ANOTHER OF SDC’S IMPLEMENTING PARTNERS, MAXIMIZING ENGAGEMENT.

In pursuit of its steadfast commitment to development initiatives in Somalia, the Swiss Agency for Cooperation and Development (SDC) is crafting its annual report with a keen focus on impact assessment, beneficiary satisfaction, minority group engagement in decision-making, and service delivery evaluation. To ensure a comprehensive understanding, SDC collaborated with Africa’s Voices in September 2023, tapping into its extensive Somalia database for a concise SMS survey. In adherence to stringent data protection policies, Africa’s Voices accessed an additional database through another of SDC’s implementing partners, maximizing engagement.

Africa’s Voices Field Coordinators, based in Somalia, conducted 18 Focus Group Discussions in specific districts, supplementing the SMS survey with qualitative insights. A total of 416 participants provided valuable feedback through 1403 messages. The 18 FGDs engaged 180 participants, ensuring gender balance and enriching the annual report with diverse citizen perspectives.
